About
I fell in love with software engineering because every problem has multiple solutions and finding the right one requires both creativity amid constraint. Most of my career has been in security-focused development, where I've learned to balance moving fast with building things right. Working on Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tooling taught me what it really means to design for scale, not just handling millions of events, but doing it reliably when systems and threats are constantly evolving. I'm drawn to environments where curiosity isn't just welcomed, it's required. I bring the same security-first mindset to how I work with teams: building trust through transparency, clear communication, and shared accountability.

Software Developer II @ AWS Security
San Francisco CA -Achievements:
- Architected automated agent validation platform using AWS, Python, and React, validating EDR agent versions across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Catching critical production bugs, eliminating 40+ hours of manual testing per release cycle, and preventing faulty releases to 100K+ production endpoints.
- Scaled platform adoption to be the standard for new endpoint agent deployments. Through configurable test suites, role-based self-service UI, and hybrid cloud/physical infrastructure. This enabled accurate user environment validation, real-time resource monitoring, and automated reporting.
- Identified inefficient endpoint online notification service querying a bloated data stream of 6M messages per hour from 100k+ endpoints. Developed stream processing platform using Kinesis, Lambda, and DynamoDB, reducing P80 delivery latency from 15 minutes to 3 seconds, infrastructure costs by 90% ($10K+ to <$1K monthly), third-party API usage by 50%, with a 10x reduction in messages.
- Expanded endpoint online service usage by making it real time and including data teams wanted to use, and delivering it efficiently by implementing a content based Pub/Sub architecture.
- Developed off boarding platform designed to protect corporate IP, while providing employee personal data access. Supported company wide reach through async workflows, automating agent-based retrieval, minimizing turn around time, and limiting IP exposure.
- Implemented secure file handling pipeline with: automated IP filtering, manual review UI with file previews, role-based access controls, and comprehensive audit logging. Enabling compliant personal data release while emitting metrics on review times, request volumes, and denial rates.
- Identified resource constraint that would halt development within 3 months, migrated IaC to AWS CDK nested Stacks reducing code complexity by 25% (total lines), and allowing the team to meet delivery dates.
- Mentored 3 junior software and systems engineers on AWS best practices, Python development standards, and security tooling design, with all 3 promoted or transitioned to Software Developer within 18 months.
- Provided technical leadership for adjacent security tooling team, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and security assessments on all of their services.

Software Developer @ AWS Security
San Luis Obispo CA -Achievements:
- Migrated physical host network infrastructure to serverless AWS architecture, replacing ~200 physical hosts across ~100 locations with fixed-response ALBs deployed to 25 AWS regions, eliminating 90% of annual hosting costs reduced per sprint operational overhead.
- Led maintenance and expansion of botnet-like network monitoring system, growing coverage from 3 to 7 security services and providing visibility into monitoring blind spots that detected weekly outages; delivered critical VPN endpoint health metrics during remote work transition enabling network team to maintain remote workforce stability.

Software Developer Intern @ Workday
Dublin CA -Achievements:
- Enhanced implementation of open-source language recognizer, ANTLR, used to define Workday’s Query Language and eventual data retrieval on Workday’s Platform.
- Exposed REST-based Web Endpoints for allowing 3rd party systems to request data in support of Workday’s PaaS initiative.
- Provided JavaScript front end to demonstrate REST Service API service capabilities.
- All work followed standard software engineering practices such as documentation, code reviews and use of source control systems (VCS/Artifactory).

Software Engineer in Test Intern @ Microsoft
Seattle WA -Achievements:
- As part of Windows Azure Active Directory Test team, I gained experience using MVC architecture pattern and front-end design.
- My project was to complete an End to End application that would test the capabilities of Windows Azure. This involved planning, writing the specifications, and developing the application.
